If the US was free, peaceful, had a booming economy, had a balanced budget, had sound money, had safe streets, had no minimum wage, and taxes imposed by all levels of government took less than 10% of our income in the past, are Americans happier now that the USA is a police state, at war, has a dead economy, is in debt, has a minimum wage, and high taxes?
The federal government has created more than 400 new crimes since 2008, according to a report by the Congressional Research Service (CRS).
In a June report to the House Over-Criminalization Task Force, the CRS identified 439 new criminal offenses to the U.S. Code between 2008 and 2013.
A 2008 analysis by the law scholar John S. Baker for the Heritage Foundation found that, between 2000 and 2007, the government added 452 crimes to the books, indicating the government has increased the rate at which it created new crimes.
The 2008 report identified "at least 4,450 federal crimes." Adding in the CRS report tally, there are now 4,889 federal crimes on the books.
Many of the new crimes simply expanded the criminal code surrounding fraud, racketeering, child pornography, recruitment of child soldiers, and other crimes often pursued by federal prosecutors.
However, there were a few new activities liable to land one in federal prison. For example, it is now a federal crime to conduct "high seas navigation of an unflagged submersible or semi-submersible vessel." The law was created in response to so-called "narco-subs" used by drug cartels in South America.
Another new section of the code "criminalizes mailing cigarettes and smokeless tobacco."
According to the report, the federal government also reduced the mens rea requirement for several crimes. Mens rea, or "guilty mind," is a common law test that requires knowledge of a crime for criminal liability.
Other sections added new criminal codes for slavery, female genital mutilation, human trafficking, and genocide.
Families Against Mandatory Minimums, a criminal justice reform group, decried the CRSâ latest findings.
"Congress seemingly can't resist making things illegal. That's why it's not enough for legislators to pass much-needed reforms like the Smarter Sentencing Act; they also need to stop actively making the system worse," FAMM legislative liaison Molly Gill said in a statement to the Washington Free Beacon.
The expansion of the federal criminal code in general has been a source of concern for law experts.
"The federal government is supposedly a government of limited powers and, therefore, limited jurisdiction," Heritage report author John S. Baker wrote at in 2008. "Each new crime expands the jurisdiction of federal law enforcement and federal courts."
Marc Levin, the policy director of the conservative criminal justice reform group Right on Crime, said the "continued exponential growth in the number and scope of criminal laws poses a significant threat to our liberties."
"This report shows once again that Congress must act to rein in the excessive growth of criminal laws that are unnecessary or duplicative, and in many cases encroach upon the traditional constitutional role of state and local governments in setting criminal justice policy," Levin said.
The USA is so far gone now that patriotic Americans don't know if they should do more to save the country or cheer the collapse.
When the US bombs Iran, Russia, China, and North Korea, Americans won't be sure which side to support.
Americans used to fight Nazis and Commies, but have now become Nazis and Commies.
Today the US flag, government, and country represents everything the USA opposed in the past.
The government is no longer legitimate. The government and illegal aliens don't obey the law. Why should you?
Why should anyone support a system that hates you and has declared you as the enemy?
WTF?
The war has started.
Maybe Americans should immediately start disobeying victimless crime laws.
If baseball hats are illegal, wear a baseball hat.
If straws are illegal, use a straw.
If guns are illegal, buy a gun.
If you must get a driver license, don't get a driver license.
If you must buy insurance, don't buy insurance.
Don't pay taxes.
Don't pay back student loans.
They can't kill us all.
Go Galt. Dropout.
Do you think the elites will be able to kick the can down the road for another 2, 5, 10, 50, or 100 years?
Every minute Americans stay silent about bailouts, debt, wars, and the police state means the collapse will be that much more violent.
Our overlords laugh every time Americans obey and refuse to resist.
Do you think the elites have learned their lesson by American obedience and the ruling class will just turn around and arrest the bankers, pay down the debt, restore the Bill of Rights, and end the wars on their own?
Enough.
Americans need to step up their game and get this party started.
Pass the word.
The elites seem to be destroying the US in every possible way.
Communism cannot compete with capitalism so the ruling class is pushing social divisions to weaken the USA.
Women aren't fighting for their rights, the 1% are using feminism to weaken men and destroy families.
Blacks aren't fighting for their rights, the 1% are using blacks to divide the country.
Illegal immigrants are used to divide the country.
Homosexuality and immorality are used to weaken the US.
Wars are used to kill off the population and increase refugees, the debt, terrorism, and tyranny.
Abortion is used to reduce population growth.
The elites are trying to kill off the 99% with chemicals in the food.
Drugs benefit the ruling class by allowing the 1% to fill their private prisons and weaken the population.
Climate change benefits the elites by giving them an excuse to raise taxes and increase regulations that punishes small businesses. The elites don't fear regulations because they write the laws, control the government, and can afford lawyers.
Trade wars are used to weaken the population by driving up prices.
Americans are weakened by poor education and welfare.
The elites support the police state because a country without free speech, religion, and guns is easy to control.
One of the dangers of tyranny is that people become used to it and forget what freedom was. Twenty years ago a prison guard could go home after work guarding murderers and thieves. Now a jail guard can go home after work just to live in a minimum security prison.
The Nazis used to choose Jews to guard other Jews. Capos might have gotten a little more food, but they were still prisoners.
Americans are all criminals today because everything is illegal. How can anyone take the moral high ground when murder and feeding the homeless are both illegal? Do you feel proud if you don't get arrested for withdrawing less than $10,000 from your own bank account? Do you feel like a saint when you pay taxes that fund illegal wars? Are you not responsible at all for paying for torture and remaining silent? You don't have blood on your hands?
Freedom once lost, is lost forever. Rulers would never want to give freedom to the people and slaves do not want freedom because they fear it. If Americans were allowed to have the choice of having self-service gas pumps, Americans would refuse because they don't know how they work and don't want to get their hands dirty. If asset forfeiture, CIA torture, TSA groping, and NSA wiretapping were ended, Americans would fear terrorists.
The ruling powers want to kill off the strong white men and then send the weak liberals to the gulags to be starved and killed.
The 1% will then divide up the wealth and land of the US among themselves and rely on robots and technology to do the labor.
The elites donât care if the US collapses because they are suicidal and they live in gated compounds with security guards on private islands, go to private schools, and have private jets to fly them to private airports.
The one thing that terrifies the elites is a population that loves freedom, morals, and self-sufficiency. The 1% ridicules moral people who love liberty. When was the last time you saw a movie about family values or the Bill of Rights? The ruling class could gun down monks, but that would make bad optics so the elites are doing whatever can they can to kill off moral people in other ways.
How else can you explain the destruction of the USA? Economics isnât rocket science. If you want a strong economy, donât punish hard work with taxes and regulations while rewarding laziness with welfare and allowing millions of 3rd world immigrants to flood the country.

Think.
Weâre getting close to the end now. Can you feel it? I do. Itâs in the news, on the streets, and in your face every day. You canât tune it out anymore, even if you wanted to.
Where once there was civil debate in the court of public opinion, we now have censorship, monopoly, screaming, insults, demonization, and, finally, the use of force to silence the opposition.
There is no turning back now. The political extremes are going to war, and you will be dragged into it even if you consider yourself apolitical.
There are great pivot points in history, and weâve arrived at one. The United States, ruptured by a thousand grievance groups, torn by shadowy agencies drunk on a gross excess of power, robbed blind by oligarchs and their treasonous henchmen and decimated by frivolous wars of choice, has finally come to a point where the end begins in earnest. The center isnât holding. Finding a center is no longer even conceivable. We are the schizophrenic nation, bound by no societal norms, constrained by no religion, with no shared sense of history, myth, language, art, philosophy, music, or culture, rushing toward an uncertain future fueled by nothing more than easy money, hubris, and sheer momentum.
Did the US boom from 1945-1970 because of regulations or because the USA was the only undamaged country after WWII?
Did the US economy slow in 1970 because of deregulation or because OPEC raised the price of oil?

Would auto prices fall if China was allowed to sell cars in the US?
Would airline ticket prices decline if foreign airlines were allowed to fly US domestic routes?
Would shipping costs decrease if foreign ships were allowed to ship between US ports?
Would the unemployment rate fall if there was no minimum wage?
Would prices fall if there were fewer regulations?
Think.
Every time the government bombs a country, bans free speech, confiscates guns, wiretaps people, seizes property, tortures, and kills people then you are responsible.
Silence means consent.
You would be naive to think that the government won't get worse or that you will never be a victim of government abuse.
