The USA has a huge amount of debt, but inflation is low today because of technology and no one has any money.
Americans will soon regret wishing for inflation when US debt grows, trade wars push up prices, illegal immigrants are kicked out, minimum wage decrees increase prices, and US wars and sanctions drive up costs.

@dcjogger - we actually had deflation for most of the 19th century, and in most of the world, not just America.
Almost every technology that we consider the foundation of the modern world was initiated in that century.
