It's not a very difficult topic and yet the reply guy didn't understand it.

Why should you listen to God? That's a dumb question, because the answer is obvious and it's that you are going to end up in hell otherwise.

Technically yeah, the means are measured by the ends. However that mentality is usually used to justify anti social and self destructive behavior while ignoring or not realizing the hidden ends.
