@shebang During NYE there are smaller but still very loud explosions besides the regular fireworks. At some point the sky above Baghdad during the invasion and the fireworks being aimed at you causing havoc there where it does hit while you casually cycle by doesn't faze you any more. You'll get used to it really really fast.
