I made a Keystone holder for an Ethernet wall box using @FreeCAD.
It needs a bit fine tuning, especially when the cable comes from below, prying the keystone from its socket.
I was installing a PoE camera/doorbell (locally managed via Home Assistant), which meant making a new, long ethernet run. I figured that was as good an opportunity as any to teach my son how to crimp an ethernet cable.
just a quick fix for that small projection screen in @FreeCAD. I had some problems with the thread, but usually I'll cut it afterwards anyway
In this video I demonstrate how to create a threaded bolt and the matching core starting from the previous video. A custom offset allows you to adapt for your printer's precision.

Let me show you how to custom-fit threads in @FreeCAD!
Forget the methods described in the FreeCAD Wiki unless you need a very specific non-standard profile. Custom diameters are much easier than you might think!
I have recorded a little screencast to illustrate how easy it is using Part Design > Hole and custom offsets. Basically, choose your thread profile, e.g., M16, and calculate a custom clearance.

If your Air Purifier suddenly stops working and you notice the change filter light illuminated , but you remember it was recently changed try this:
Take it apart, then examine and gently clean the sensor .
Reassemble and reset, then it might work again.

Then I wondered: Can you actually reprogram a character while it is being displayed? Like you may expect in such an old chip, the #HD44780 does *not* latch the customized character anywhere. Instead, every time it scans out the characters to the LCD, it reads the bitmap from RAM again.
That means that if one of the customized characters is in use, it updates immediately on the display when changing it via the parallel #Programming interface.
I don't think anyone has ever these displays to show a 40-band live spectrogram of the music playing on their laptop, but I did now.

Those of you who tinker with #DIY #Electronics projects might know these types of character-based liquid crystal displays.
This one features 20 characters in four rows. Each cell has 5x8 pixels. The controller has a baked-in font with a (very nonstandard) 8-bit codepage. It can be used to display text, such as "Hello Fediversians!".

Morning All
It's Friday, and our focus is not only the weekend. But for us Brits, Bank Holiday Monday also means we get three days to do lots of stuff around the house we don't really want to do and get dragged by our partners to places we don't really want to go to.
Incidentally, my #DIY ESR and capacitance meter can be used to measure a low resistance in AC with the 4-probe method and it is fairly accurate.
