Like with #TheLastJedi, there was a ton to like and ways to imagine the new themes evolving going forward. I defended it from all the haters. But then they made #TheRiseOfSkywalker and showed they didn't care about any of that and had no plan. That's exactly how the latest episode of #TheAcolyte makes me feel about what they've been doing in the show. So disappointing. #StarWars

I disliked #HanSolo's death in #TheForceAwakens, but from a story standpoint, as expected of a good father, he was leaving himself completely open to his son. Only his son foolishly decided to kill him, but that action and its consequence were dulled by Solo's reappearance in #TheRiseOfSkywalker.

3/ But wait - where was I? Oh, right - I like #TheLastJedi and I like the new trilogy despite the fact that #TheRiseOfSkywalker is more than a bit overdone - my belief can only be suspended for so long before the cable snaps - but I'd rank it behind the original trilogy (ep 4-6) and ahead of the prequels (ep 1-3) in terms of watchability.

Just got done rewatching all 9 so I'm just getting it on record

For anyone still reading along, thanks for following! I’ll be tackling TRoS later this weekend and I anticipate I’ll be many multiples more snarky at that debacle if a film.
