Just insta-bought the clear Beats Studio Buds Plus after listening to the #vergecast. If these stay in my ears during a workout, I’m sold.

Listening to the #Vergecast episode about #WBD’s presentation, #NilayPatel got it right and #AlexCranz got it wrong about the #HarryPotter show. Yes, there’s a level of toxicity in the #HarryPotter community, but #HogwartsLegacy literally shattered records for the most purchased game on #Steam.

#WBD cares about making money above all, and it’s worth the controversy if making the content makes them money.

This is a lot different than an ad-revenue based company because they don’t need to please advertisers, only a fraction of a fraction of their revenue likely comes from advertisers. So they have this freedom, because now the only people they really need to please are the viewers.

@pierce Will there be a video version of the SXSW #vergecast released at some point? Just curious. I prefer the video version, and I've seen a clip on Instagram, so I just wanted to check before I listened to the audio version that was released today.

Many of these podcasts, like #Vergecast, are run by the #MSM and they generally don’t like the #Fediverse very much because it’s impossible to do censorship at scale

I’ve never heard people who care much about “fake news” support the #Fediverse without calling for the very federation features that make the platform useful to be stripped down as strictly as possible

@Meeper @verge Blatantly lie about the #EARNIT act on the #Vergecast podcast, saying it's a censorship bill instead of the truth, which is that it bans all encryption

A missing key to success for any social network is tons of advertising and I don't see any #Fediverse trying to get that

#Wired articles and some name drops in #Vergecast and #Timcast won't cut it

I don't agree with him on everything but #CaseyNewton always has great takes when he's on the #Vergecast

P.S. I feel like this makes a great case for the #Fediverse, as that's literally what he's describing
