There's a fun presentation that I could offer from my workstation builds involving GhostBSD: "SED/OPAL full disk encryption on NVMe, tuning EPYC Zen5 and ZFS mirror for the OS".

Clearly that would need a better name, but there's some usefulness given that Ghost doesn't support the usual GELI encryption scheme in the installer, and then... FDE with SED has no processing overhead like GELI, no perf io reduction required. Zen4 and Zen5 benefit from quite a bit of system tuning for FreeBSD based workstations, so that's important for considerations.

Once the movers stop holding my homelab hostage and deliver my life's belongings, then I'll be able to generate a presentation on the subject. Apparently, "it's on a truck", still... nearly one month after moving. Fun times.

Can anybody tell me if GhostBSD or FreeBSD has a GUI disk partition program available ? For instance on Linux I would use Gnome Disk Utility or Gparted.

GhostBSD has released version 24.10.1. It's an OS out of Canada that is based on FreeBSD but put's it's own spin on things such as having the Mate desktop preinstalled and having a GUI installer among other things. This release offers better hardware compatibility, fixes five bugs, fixes two security issues, makes it so Chromium has the necessary options to watch Netflix, and more. The code is licensed using the BSD-3-Clause license. If you're looking to leave Windows or Mac OS for a more privacy and security friendly operating system then I can easily recommend GhostBSD.

I just tested it with #mate and it works!
As a next step, I'm going to experiment with screenshots from 1080p monitor connected to #MacBook and #GhostBSD with #Mate. Let's see how close we can go.

Today I experimented with font rendering settings in #GhostBSD #mate. My goal is to find parameters that will be matching #macOS as closer as possible. I’ll share results later.

well, that was dumb #GhostBsd if your going to put a captcha on your telegram group, pleas make it usable bye blind people, I am trying to figure out the answer to a simple question. That being is there a screen reader in the GhostBsd installer. From the way this hole telegram group thing went, I'm guessing not. If anyone knows, please let me know, if not, please boost for wider reach.
