The wife and I decided to finally subscribe to AppleTV as of last night. This morning, we started watching Shrinking as this was the number one reason we subscribed since everyone said this show is so good.

We're only one episode in so far, and really enjoying it. We were laughing throughout most of the first episode.

Sticking or being stuck w/ #HarrisonFord all this time, recasting Indy could run into the same backlash #TheForceAwakens and #Solo did:

"Enjoy this #Movie where we kill of Han. Shortly thereafter, enjoy another movie where we recast Han and revisit his youth."

Dissecting the formula, I think it's most important to cast buzzy actors. #HarrisonFord was cast as #IndianaJones in the middle of his #HanSolo #StarWars buzz. If an audience likes actors, they'll watch them in any kind of #Movie.

I continue to doubt #Disney expected #IndianaJones to be a huge moneymaker for them in the future. They had to know when they bought #Lucasfilm Indy was tied to #GeorgeLucas's, #StevenSpielberg's, and #HarrisonFord's approval. Unless you cut all three out, you can't make many Indy products (mainly #Movies and #TV). It doesn't seem Disney has made a push to cut Ford out. In fact, they seem to have followed his wish to focus on Indy aging.

#HarrisonFord can't be believed on these matters. For years he said he'd never play #HanSolo again, yet he did, not only in #ForceAwakens but also in #RiseOfSkywalker. Now he says #DialOfDestiny will be his last #IndianaJones. He also said that about #CrystalSkull.

Dial of Destiny is too new a movie at the moment for us to know what place it will hold in the legacy of #IndianaJones. Did anyone really expect 80-yo #HarrisonFord to give a rousing performance that connects with today's younger chief moviegoing demographic? I didn't.

#HarrisonFord said he wanted each movie to arise from #IndianaJones' character, but the #Movies don't develop Indy's character in linear fashion; they're snaps of disparate times in his life as opposed to a five-part #Story with tight #Continuity. The original #StarWars trilogy is a fairly tight story by comparison, depicting Luke's development from insecure farm boy to bold adventurer.
