Wow I've never seen this before! Usually the whole shell just freezes up or something unless I quickly SSH and kill or something. Definitely an improvement ️
Version 0.2 of my eSIM Manager app is out!
We've got significant UI improvements alongside many other additions such as an app icon, providing environment variables for lpac via the command line, error handling, eUICC 'notification' handling, viewing of eUICC chip info and appstream metainfo data!

LINux on MOBileInitial release of the #immich upload daemon is ready for people to use and report the tons of issues it probably has lol. You can find it here https://github.com/luigi311/immich_upload_daemon Feel free to open any issues/PR. Its still missing the charging only option but the networking features are there so you can set wifi only and/or SSID checking and you can even just check for metered connections. Mostly developed on my and for my #FLX1 via remote vscode.

GitHubDear @Mer__edith and the the amazing @signalapp team,
After the last update, the Signal "desktop app" is requiring us to launch the mobile app - however, many of us do not have the Android or any other "mobile" version of the Signal app any more.
We are a large (by our standards) group of #Linux phone users, and your "desktop" app is our "mobile" app : )
Our previous phones on which #SignalApp was initially activated was an Android or Apple device and we have since then completely migrated to #Linuxphones. Some of us may have registered Signal on #signalcli, Flare, #Molly, Signal Android in #WayDroid, etc.
The #mobileLinux community is growing - we have members spanning a good number of projects and devices, e.g.
- @purism #Librem5 and #LibertyPhone running #Debian-based #PureOS #GnuLinux, #Alpine-based #PostmarketOS or #Mobian,
- @PINE64 #Pinephone and PP Pro running #ManjaroARM, #SailfishOS, etc.
- @furilabs #FLX1 running #Droidian-based #FuriOS,
- a wide variety of Android phones (including OnePlus 6, Google Pixel 3, #Fairphone 4 & 5) running #Alpine-based @postmarketOS ,
- @volla , #Fxtec and #Brax3 devices running #UbuntuTouch by @ubports,
- devices running @mobian which is part of #Debian project, etc.
[Apologies to any project I may have failed to include - you are all appreciated]

Since #immich still has a lot of time before we get a usable #mobilelinux client that would help us backup our images easily. I am working on a daemon that will upload images automatically. What features would you be interested in?
Current ideas so far
1. Wifi only
2. SSID checking
3. Charging only
4. Systemd service for autostart and logging
5. Specifying paths
No @postmarketOS for this device ?
Than no device ~UwU~

That's AWESOME! Battery life has been one of those steady complaints putting people off #MobileLinux for so long now, so addressing a good part of this will go a long way!
didn't realize that @Liberux posted the modem they are going to use. Is anyone on #linuxmobile familiar with the Snapdragon X62 and how well its supported on mainline? Looking at the specs its really new and modern so performance and efficiency should hopefully be amazing. That of course does depend on if power saving modes can even be activated. What are everyone's thoughts/experience on it? Also wonder if its hooked up via usb similar to #librem5
Thanks for another interesting roundup! Great to see all the work happening on smooth, high end video playback, even on the Pinephone! Also interesting to see what #Liberux are working on. Hopefully the product will match the promises! We need more decent spec Linux phones! (Preferably at non-insane prices but hey, I'm prepared to pay a premium if the hardware is worth it).
Gnome 48 also brings so many improvements to Gnome Mobile.
Scrolling is just as smooth as it's on Android.
OSK and Touch text selection are better now.
And the cameras have started working on #Oneplus6
Overall, it's getting to where it is starting to feel like a real alternative ️.
My dream of crawling away from the clutches of Big-Tech gets closer.

I just made some changes to @libcamera to export focus/brightness controls and created a PoC app to work with it via @pipewire (wireplumber gobject api) in @vala_lang because why not? @postmarketOS

LINux on MOBile"If it doesn't support #WhatsApp natively, it's going to be a failure" was one of the common criticisms during #UbuntuPhone times ten years ago.
"Does it support #Signal?" is a common question about #linuxphones.
Good reminder that we still haven't figured out messaging at all and #lockin can easily happen even with solutions that look more free and open at first glance. There are still no good alternatives to Signal's iOS/Android apps.
With @furilabs latest release they added in a pretty big UX improvement for folks that need android apps. There is now a gnome software plugin that will let you interface with fdroid apps as if it was native. This removes the need to open up fdroid to install applications or update them. You can now manage all that in a single place. Here's a recording of me installing pixelix android app via gnome software. Its got kinks but the idea is great!
