The Kitsune Tails demo for Steam Next Fest is live now, five days early, and looks really adorable on Steam Deck!
I would also like to emphasise that when you get hit, you transform out of your human form and into a small and intensely adorable purple fox with a swooshy tail.
(I'll share proper screenshots of that later, but they're on the Deck rather than on my phone.)

@njamster@mastodon.gamedev.placeThe #NextFest demo for "Duck Detective: The Secret Salami" by a small #Berlin based studio with the cute name #HappyBroccoli is *very* short – and still won me over with its superb (!) voice acting and lovely art style. If you have only 10 minutes to spare, make it this tiny deduc(k)tion game - you won't regret it, promised!
@njamster@mastodon.gamedev.placeMy third #NextFest recommendation is #Diceomancer, a roguelike deckbuilder à la #SlayTheSpire - but with a very special twist: You can change *any* number on the screen by rolling a dice. Reroll the enemies HP. Or your own. Or the number of cards in your deck. Or in your discard pile. Or the coins you own. The mana you have. You get the idea... Very cool concept! Also, I love the hand drawn art style. :)
@njamster@mastodon.gamedev.placeAnother demo that really positively surprised me was #Deviator. Visually, it looks a little *too* much like #HollowKnight, and I'm sure this will be a turnoff to some. That being said, it actually plays a lot more like #Sekiro, relying heavily on perfectly timed blocks and counter-attacks. And not only is that still a very underexplored frontier in the #SoulsLike genre as a whole, it's also *really* well executed here! Recommended!
