@Wichawd_Wagnew hating jar jar was 100% a psy op and the amount of attention placed on him is insane. I just watched phantom menace and while jar jar is a tad annoying hes honeslty hardly in the movie

Most of the prequel hate from when it came out were from the cynical assholes called gay nerds who were in their 20's when Phantom Menace came out. They were primarily mad Lucas made the movie he wanted to do rather than the movie they had invented in their minds and got hyped over. A lot of it was also conveniently forgetting that Star Wars had always been partly aimed at kids.

Lucas target audience has always been families and giving them adventure movies that aren't cynical like the adventure serials he grew up with. It's the one thing I think he's completely earnest about and not busy retconning himself to sniff his own farts with in regards to Star Wars.

Also the underwater fish scene is one of my all time favorites
