Most of the prequel hate from when it came out were from the cynical assholes called gay nerds who were in their 20's when Phantom Menace came out. They were primarily mad Lucas made the movie he wanted to do rather than the movie they had invented in their minds and got hyped over. A lot of it was also conveniently forgetting that Star Wars had always been partly aimed at kids.

Lucas target audience has always been families and giving them adventure movies that aren't cynical like the adventure serials he grew up with. It's the one thing I think he's completely earnest about and not busy retconning himself to sniff his own farts with in regards to Star Wars.

Dude, people are so mad at Lucas for silly reasons they completely miss how good at visual direction he is. Say what you want about his ability to write dialogue and direct actors he's 10/10 when it comes to visuals and visual storytelling.

I don't mind his dialogue but I can recognise they're pretty clumsy attempts at theatre style. Although his actors carry it with physical performances, Hayden Christensen gets shit on unfairly imo. His dialogue in the Mustafar duel is ridiculous but his performance sells everything else.

@Umlauts @Distolero @Wichawd_Wagnew i just finished watching AoTC and Hayden delivers his lines with a level of passion expected of a hot head Jedi who wears his heart on his sleeve. He shows anger, sadness, pain and hapiness through his expressions and movements. He throws things when hes mad he has a big smile when hes happy. Natalie on the other hand is incredibly flat in AoTC it makes the romance feel unbelievable shes supposed to be conflicted but she talks about it like she talks like shes still playing her queen role in TPM very monotone and flat like she could honeslty care less about whats going on.
