programmer burnout is real and you may be a victim, call 1-800-NEKOBIT if you or a loved one cannot right more than 3 lines of code without wanting to hang yourself
@nekofag its called getting FILTERED if u can't program a vulkan driver in risc v assembly for plan9 ur basically a retard with downsyndrome
@pernia @graf @graf the only plan9 opinion ill ever hold dearly is that Acme is an overrated load of shit and i think everyone who uses it is jerking off
@nekofag @graf @graf have you tried it? i prefer sam but i don't actually c0de. it seems useful to me, cuz you can open a bunch of shit and organize. so its like making an editor+window manager that works as a costumizable IDE
@pernia @graf @graf I only tried the plan9port version which was applicable enough. It's funny but the IDE approach was what was so weird. It basically broke the UNIX-like philosophy of it and I never understood it. We invented drag and drop for copying data between programs. We didn't need a window within a window weird shit.

Also it's not very efficient and the whole mouse-autism (i read the paper) was retarded. A sane programmer uses both Mouse and Keyboard in unison, not either or. Acme was mostly just mouse driven, other than that it sucked.

Anyone who goes about like it's still amazing nowadays should just try Emacs or JOE or whatever, since it's the same thing. Fuck, even Xedit does it without trying to be some window system.
@nekofag @graf @graf >I only tried the plan9port version which was applicable enough
i'd disagree. plan9port graphical programs feel very shit on unix, it fucks up the whole feel you'd have on rio
>It basically broke the UNIX-like philosophy of it and I never understood it
yea, it feels alot like a monolith program at first. if you think about it like a graphical tmux it doesn't feel that way anymore though. it does take up too many functions though (shit even works as an email client)

if it had the little bar that sam has to input commands, it'd be super cum imo. it does feel very manual though

emacs and joe are pedophile software. i thought joe worked with rtf files only
