i dont like people who rate games based on gameplay alone, rather than the game as a whole

@opal I don't understand how you could have any metric other than "is it fun/satisfying/etc to play"

@applejack because i appreciate the storytelling, artstyle, music, and any emotions that the game elicits from me, while im playing the game
@applejack you cant be telling me right now that you'd enjoy a game that has shitty music and sfx, ass graphics, and a boring story (if the game lends itself to having one—it really only matters in action/adventure games) even if the controls, movement, and objectives were alright

hell, it's why i completely avoid undertale

@opal How does that not reduce down to positive feelings? I'm talking about people that have fun with something but "there are a lot of glitches, so it's objectively kinda bad". Even if a game makes you sad, you like it because there's a satisfaction to it. Music, sfx, graphics, only matter so far as you need them to get positive feelings about them

I don't like it either. It just felt like a more boring RPG maker meme the tiny bit I played it

@applejack when you rate a game you're evaluating it in its entirety, which includes however a game makes you feel. are you being autistic rn
