yeah you can do that, you can add whatever tags you want. or the ones the internet does for you, but what does the parenthesis add to your search.
so... why... why not just leave out whichever one you don't wanna see

it will return results that have astolfo trap AND anal trap
but if there were no parentheses: e.g. astolfo OR anal AND trap
it will instead give me either astolfo or anal trap posts

And then you decide that it doesn't have to be sex, toys are ok too, and for whatever reason that's not tagged as anal, but, say, anal_insertion, and now you can't solve it without parens.
examples are much more useful than theory (or whatever you wanna call it) it just cleared it up more.

Thing is, without being able to specify priority via parens, you'll never be able to make arbitrarily complex searches. Regardless of whether AND or OR is evaluated first. If you do left-to-right evaluation... Maybe? But much better to just have priority and parens to modify it.

I only really open hydrus, type a random tag, character, or artist, take 4 pics and then post them.
any pics I really like I just tag as 'favorite' for quick posting. that's about the extent of my searching
