@AnimeTradCath @Vasta218 Sorry, are you evangelising your own viewpoint at me or are you explaining what Arius believed?

@AnimeTradCath @Vasta218 Can you please explain why this was controversial? I’m going to try my hand at guessing why, please grade my homework:

1: Christ as a creature created by the Father is controversial because the orthodoxy is that Christ is the Father,

2: …. Fuck it, same reasoning but Holy Spirit. Either that, or because this is one of those places and times where the Holy Spirit has been minimised for whatever reason (be it Virgin Mary allegory, or something else.)

Was I far off?

@magus @Vasta218 for the most part you're correct. Another point to add is the immutability of the Father. The relationship between the Father and the Son is that they were always together coeternally, so if at any point the Son was created by the Father that would mean that the Father was, at some point in existence, alone. If the Father was alone and thus became unalone he would thus be mutable, as the Father in who he the Father in some way has changed. If the Father is thus mutable he therefore can sin, and if the Father can sin then Christianity falls apart.
@AnimeTradCath @Vasta218 Not an ironic hostile boost, that was actually really succinct and informative, thank you.

I have a question. I thought the fundamental idea in Christianity was that Jesus Christ reformed the nature of Man's Covenant with God? (Thereby rendering the Old Testament "Canon, but superceded by the New Testament.")

This being the explanation for why Christians and Jews have different practices.

So is the assertion here that God (The Father) ALWAYS planned to change the nature of the Covenant in reaction to some kind of earthly stimulus? And thus may have before (e.g. Noah's flood) and may do again (e.g. the events described in Revelations?)
@Vasta218 @AnimeTradCath Come on, I even gave you a ready explanation for why God changing his mind about the nature of the Covenant doesn't mean it has to invalidate his Master Plan.
@magus @AnimeTradCath @Vasta218 I'm gonna keeo it real with you chief, you better start capitalizing His
