Unix is old. Unix is so old that “classic” MacOS is newer. The AS/400 operating system is newer.

I see a lot of people complaining about programming languages but what they are really complaint about is the operating system these languages were designed with/for/etc.

If we want these problems to go away we really need to be working on new operating systems.

The biggest argument I see against this is “compatibility”, but that’s what protocols (and other communications standards) are for.

There is an argument to be made that the web browser is an operating system, which is something to explore but even that is like 20 years old. Hardly high-tech or cutting edge.

#collapseos may be the newest operating system I use, which is a really weird thing to think about.

This is crazy.
