do you guys have that "git vs github mental gymnastics" meme i saw earlier today

@fp @fluffy How do you make a patch and then test it without cloning the whole repo? Then you add the changes. Then you switch back to the webbrowser or email client to create an email where you attatch the patch file, then repeat that for every contribution

It takes all the same steps, except instead of signing into github you sign into (a likely proprietary) email service

@fp @fluffy You can actually also just fork a repo on github or gittea or gitlab or whatever and then edit it on the site if it really is something simple that you don't need to locally clone the whole repo over to test

Follow

@fluffy @fp Simple like fixing a typo

The meme points out "clone an entire new repository" like that's not something you do when making patches. There are few cases you'd not clone the repo for either but you can for either

I didn't come here to try to prove something to you, applejack at game liberty dot club

There's a 1/1 chance (actually 1/1 tho lmao) that I'm laughing at the stupid things you've said

@fluffy @fp I am deeply embarrassed and ashamed at my irredeemable actions of being right all the time. I shall be sepekuing at nightfall

can you stop spamming me with your opinions and feelings now
