Phones are indeed more secure than desktops, according to those who prefer to be locked up in a cage over being able to live freely.

Like how Josh from WAM puts it, "I prefer dangerous liberty over safe tyranny".

@ryo @wrongthink His entire argument against how they datamine you is showing a screenshot of an article about how Win10 does it too, and his entire argument about their security and privacy is apps being sealed containers so they're more secure and cant snoop on eachother (which doesnt matter if you use FOSS programs anyway) and that you can disable sensors (all of which you can disable on desktop or desktops just don't have, like GPS, mobile networks)

It's so bad

@applejack @wrongthink I seriously can't believe he even believes in these "privacy switches".
It's a well known fact that on iOS, Android, and WinDOS 10/11 they're just to make you feel safer, but in reality these switches are just dummy buttons without any effect whatsoever.
Though I would argue that it's sometimes needed on Linux too, especially if you're using Discucked, Audacity, Chrome, VSCode, Snaps, or some other soyware you shouldn't be using in the first place.
Well, Audacity is perhaps the only useful tool out of these, but then again multiple forks (and drama between them) exist

@applejack @ryo It’s all very inconsistent. He couldn’t seem to decide on which platforms exactly to contrast, or whether to shill Android or custom ROMs. He’s made quite a following in the privacy tech space so there’s going to be a lot of newbies parroting (and making decisions on) those claims.
