This looks like censorship.

Pixiv is dying, they're making poorly informed decisions which are going to drive a lot of western artists away; to be honest I think that's a good thing.

Look, “losing” Pixiv isn't what's happening.

Pixiv will go the way of tumblr, it will restrict itself out of relevance but this is an unfortunate reality of the modern internet of impermanence.

The influx of western artists into Japanese censorship areas was always a bad thing, we always needed a better option.

@fluffy does anybody know what sort of works are disallowed on each country?

@exlurker @fluffy Just set your location to Japan in the settings and it'll showcase everything as normal. It's a workaround.

Lying to gain access to hentai is a tradition as old as tentacle rape and lolicon.

Before I did the obvious solution I had a long look around to ascertain the situation.

It's a mess over there, they use self-reporting to block content.

After they made scrapers more difficult to use a year ago, I silently realized this was the beginning of the end.

Forcing a notable amount of users to violate the ToS will have ramifications beyond the minor inconvenience to us.

@exlurker
This is exactly the issue, as not only would I say the answer is no, I would further say this extends to the pixiv administration and website itself.

Artists I follow there known for loli may have no visible works, while others (properly tagged, mind you) have galleries full of loli without restriction.

On top of that, loli is fully legal and a protected freedom in the USA so they seem to be using it as an excuse, anyway.

It's more like they're blocking troublemakers.
