@nerdman @georgia that sounds pretty brutal, but if it works for you then why not.
i usually calm myself down by thinking about the worst thing that can happen, which is being back in the place that i started from before trying to achieve X, just having gained experience in what to do/not to do the next time. failure is fine in most first world cases, people forget fast, but that doesn't mean that effort isn't appreciated.
doesn't apply to everything though, but i've found that thought helpful.
