@popko We are a fork of mastodon proper with a **lot** of added code. So we tend to lag behind updates by a few weeks, but we make up for it with lots of extra features for good or bad.

Either way, an update is in the works actually, should only be a few more days.

Thank you for enjoying our instance and wanting to join. But we really arent a generalist instance. I wouldnt care so much but it would impact the quality of our local timeline where users generally want to interact with other people in STEM

@popko If we had a way to make posts that didnt go to the local timeline (federate only posts) we could potentially change our policy. But right now we dont have such a feature. I have wanted to implement one though. If I ever do it might allow us to tweak out policies in the future.

I dont know how to run a server because I'm old, I could do it by 12 years old (though it was on dialup back then). I learned to do it because i read up on how.

Nothing stopping you, just read and learn how.
