IDK how many of you have actually folloed whats going on in Bolivia, but let me tell you, it's hella scary:
1. The election has been postponed 4 times now. Probably because the MAS (Movement Towards Socialism, Evo's party) is leading the polls.
2. The delay in the election has caused massive riots and strikes by indigenous people and the working sector. The vast majority of Bolivians.
3. the interim coup government (who accused Evo of being a dictator) it's acting now more than ever like a true dictatorship. Arresting political dissidents, including a teenager posting memes on Facebook (she was quickly released, but still). And make outlandish accusation to anyone related to Evo's government and his party, including sedition and terrorism (hypocrisy much?).
4. In a move that I'm really proud of, Mexico offered refuge to the politically persecuted in its embassy, and in the case of Evo, in its territory. Which lead to a series of diplomatic tension between the countries. And Áñez's government had the embassy constantly surrounded by cops and had drones fly above it. Which is, you know, bad.
