I hate it when adults tokenize things children and teenagers do as a means to separate them from adults.
"Let high school girls have glittery things and toys, because they need to act their age and not have adulthood forced onto them."
This is so insidious. Weaponizing the ideas meant to empower people and let them have their hobbies - regardless of age - into the tool of trapping them into childhood.

@comrade_lecter american society especially hates fun. And once youre an adult, they only want you to do it if its in a way that can be profited from. Things get dismissed as childish or unbecoming simply because they dont reinforce the idea that we must work until we die
