In my opinion Clint Eastwood had the better Westerns than John Wayne and Gary Cooper. Especially The Dollar Trilogy that he did in Italy. The Action is more exciting the Stories are more grey area and nuanced and more interestin'.
When it comes to American Action Films from the 80s Commando is one of the best ones. While it may not be as good as Rambo to some cats. It definitely holds up and probably more than most American Action Films in that time period.
As I've said before The Bourne Identity Films even Bourne Ultimatum had the better Close Quarters Combat Choreography than the Dark Knight Trilogy.
