That goes against pretty much all design and UX principles I’ve learned. People are detered by the smallest inconveniences. Even talking on the phone will deter attackers. Using two different types of bike locks will deter competent thieves from taking even the most expensive bikes. If you make something accessible in the UI people will use it. If you bury it, they’ll use it less. If someone is really motivated, small inconveniences won’t stop them. But if you put something in front of people, they’ll definitely use it.
