I'm basically your polar opposite. I hated reading as a kid. It was only way later in life, that it wasn't reading per say that I had a problem with, it was the shitty and boring Romanian literature that was being forced on us.
Now I read periodically, mostly in English though. Things I've enjoyed the most were the Diablo books, a few science books from Stephen Hawking, Dawkins and others, a few books on atheism, and a lot of Star Wars books. (the ones that Disney deemed non-canon now).

Ok, that's A LOT! I don't think I've ever managed to read that much/that fast. I guess it doesn't help that 99% of the reading I'm doing now is not in my native language.
