Maybe because they're banned for a good reason. Besides, I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to that is banned, since evidently people like Joe Rogan have managed to be given ivermectin by doctors. It's not recommended and it's not in the standard treatment, but this antiparasitic is not banned.
But to get back to your initial point, since this woman seems to have avoided medical help in the first place, and likely only went to ER when she started having serious difficulties breathing, literally nothing would have forestalled the need for a vent at that point.
And if you're trying to argue that this woman, that refused other treatment, would have had accepted ivermectin, EVEN IF ivermectin actually had the positive effect some people so desperately want it to have, she would have been a bigger idiot that I initially imagined her to be. That stuff has the potential for permanent neurological damage at wrong dosage, and THAT's what your choice of primary treatment is?!
@coolboymew
If that's a genius, I'd rather be a brain dead moron.

Cause maybe this disease is actually that bad without medication. Only reason things are better now than in the beginning is that they've managed to find a decent treatment if they spot it early on. Early being they key word.
Considering she went to ER for X-rays, it seems pretty clear to me that she refused the medical help at the start of it. And when you wait until your lungs get fucked up, there is not much to do but pump more oxygen so you don't suffocate.
When you and your family have proved to be completely incompetent at making medical decisions, it doesn't matter what a piece of paper might say, you're no longer fit to make medical decisions.
But of course, I'm probably talking with somebody that thinks the vaccine will turn people gay or something, so I'm wasting my breath.

You'd think that the part where she died 4 days later would hint at the fact that her mother had a very serious condition, that escalated extremely fast, and the doctors did the correct thing by taking it very seriously and not waiting around for bureaucracy.
If I ever end up in such a condition, I pray that I get "abused" by doctors that end up saving my life because of it, so that I can choose for myself if saving my life is malpractice.
@diresock
fuck... didn't think that one through. That's what I get for not using 4chan.

I would have also accepted the old Steve Rogers one.

Hopefully we transition to the Fallout timeline at some point, and USA annexes Canada and saves it from itself.

You have an interesting therapist...

I might just live in a bubble, but I've yet to hear from anyone having to get vaccinated to work.
As for going places, as long as it's not within a mall, I can go in any store, supermarket, whatever without the covid greencard (or however EU calls it). I don't even need it to travel through the country. Honestly, that piece of paperwork is almost useless to me.
Eastern Europe being more free than North America feels so odd to me, but maybe I shouldn't be surprised. We had to deal with authoritarian regimes within our collective lifetime.
