No, it was some weird guy, with some kind of mask... or maybe helmet... barely got a look at him. But there were some kind of horns sticking out of his head mask.

Well, here's what you can do with a Kobo:
- read your own epubs, pdfs, and manga (the best way to send them to your device is via Calibre, to keep metadata)
- it can sync via getpocket.com, so you can tag articles for reading later
- it should have a minimalist web browser, but for me it hasn't been that useful.
- some models have dropbox support.

Also noteworthy is that Kobo devices are easy to patch and get custom software on them, like Koreader (which is much better for pdfs).
I recommend this forum if you ever want to go down the hack-it rabbit hole.

Yes, at the very least it should have an experimental browser.

@thor
Nice, a Kobo. Check the model, cause for some of them you can upgrade their storage (they use a regular microsd for storage).

Austria, a smaller word for a smaller country.
Australia, a bigger word for a bigger country.

The average human isn't my friend either. I don't plan on being friends with everyone.

@thor
You ask whether it's about being correct or friends. I answer: it's about having the discussion, because it's the best way to assess who might be correct, even if we might not discover who is correct.

@thor
I expect of my friends to be able and willing to hold conversations. It's what I appreciate in people. It's what makes me want to be friends with someone in the first place. Sometimes those conversations are debates. I'd like to hold those conversations too, even if we never find a common ground.

@thor
I'm not in the camp of "ignorance is bliss". If you want to live your life with just "nah, I disagree" it's your choice, and I obviously can't stop you. But technology wasn't invented with just "nah, I disagree" so it's not something I can respect.

And this position of yours, where you automatically assume you're right, when you're not even willing to put the effort in to think and explain a position, now that's insulting.

@thor
The more you dissect a statement, the more you explain your position, the longer the argument is gonna get.

It's easy to say "nah, I disagree". It's hard to actually explain why you disagree, to point out why you are right, and to try to make yourself perfectly understood.

@thor
I never considered you an idiot, but it's not the first time I see you posit that a short argument is somehow proof that a person is correct, and it does make me scratch my head.

An atheist can spend days explaining why the Bible is self contradictory, historically wrong, immoral, and just plain wrong.
A Christian can say "It's true because the Bible says so, and I trust the Bible because it says god, a perfect being, wrote the Bible, so it must be true".

The latter is significantly shorter. By your reasoning, chances are it's the correct position.

@thor
You haven't participated in many good conversations, have you?

@thor
I disagree. I'm not insulting you by not calling you king. Just because there are titles that you might find more prestigious and desirable, me not calling you by them, because you haven't achieved them, is not insulting. I'm not calling you a doctor, an engineer, a lawyer, an actor, a singer etc. Those are all prestigious titles in today's society, but people won't call you that if you haven't earned them.

A lady, an actress, doctor, singer etc. are all still women. It's just that I can also say at times "that actress over there", to help me be more specific.
