I'm not bothered by forced diversity as much as I'm bothered by the glee people find in knowingly trying to offend or annoy "bigoted" people.
When they have that kind of reaction, it's telling me that they're not good people in any way, and that the product they created is bad and shallow, because its main goal simply is not to provide enjoyment to anyone, but rather to provide displeasure for a certain demographic.
Even if you're not racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or any other kind of bigot, you simply are very unlikely to get any pleasure from such products. Unless you are the same kind of evil vindictive person as the creators, there simply won't be something for you to connect with. The only way you could enjoy yourself is if you're also the kind of person that takes glee from another person's suffering, in this case a bigot, as that is what the creators had in mind.
Appropriately enough, I discovered it while I fell asleep listening to music. The song infiltrated itself in my dream and was singing to me "oyasumi" during said dream. Best experience 10/10.
Deadbeef uses less resources while playing music than foobar2000 does on complete standby. I'm curious if it's just the Wine overhead, or because my foobar install has way too many plugins in it.
In any case, it seems I've settled on Deadbeef as my Linux music player. Since it was build to copy/emulate foobar, there are a few things about it, like how it handles rating or columns displayed in a playlist, that makes it a good fit to use in parallel to foobar.
There's a Daggerfall Unity package that has made it onto the GoG store, with a bunch of good mods included. (completely free of course).
Good news: I no longer NEED foobar2000 for a good EQ plugin and a virtual surround headphone experience. Pipewire finally made it possible for me to enjoy good music coming from any program.
Bad news: foobar2000 still has way too many good management features that I've yet to see implemented to the same degree in a Linux app.
But at least now I CAN enjoy some light music listening without going through Wine.

Best resource I've ever found to help setup a good EQ for headphones. I feel like I'm in heaven right now. Music sounds a lot better.
