At least there are 2 silver linings with this situation:
1) the laptop isn't mine, so this is the first and last time I'll have to deal with this bullcrap
2) Linux once again proves itself superior, because it wasn't phased by Intel's bullshit, and was able to perfectly see the NVME drive.
I haven't had to provide a "hard drive" driver to the installing OS ever since very early SATA days with Windows XP. Then Intel had to come along and fuck up everything...
You'd think Intel would think about pushing it's drivers to Microsoft well before release of their CPUs, so that the Windows spring update would have everything good to go. But noooo... Fuck Intel in the ass.
Nevermind... INTEL CAN GO FUCK ITSELF!
For future reference for anyone having to install Windows 10 on Intel 11 gen CPUs.
BTW, if you've got any idea why Windows 10, booted from a USB drive made in Linux doesn't see a NVME disk on a laptop, let me know. Right now I'm trying different tools to make the USB, in case Ventoy was messing something up.
At least I've managed to find the old tool my Manjaro used to have: Imagewriter. I've got no idea why it wasn't installed anymore.
Fuck Etcher.
Manjaro used to have a perfectly good USB image writer utility, but I think it got removed with some update, and for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. I think it was "borrowed" from CentOS or some other distro I've never touched. And now I'm stuck with relying on this Electron crap cause I can't find a decent, simple USB image writer tool.
