Means are a method, they don't exist in the physical world, they have no value. Only ends exist. So only whatever means bring about the best ends are worthwhile.

@ThomasPaine Means are only measured by what ends they create. Warcrimes aren't bad in and of themselves but because they create bad end points.
Saying a means is bad necessitates you arguing about ends, but by doing so you're arguing for ends. It just doesn't make sense.
Warcrimes are bad, but they need to be rationally weighed to maximise outcomes.
