longer lan cable would be cool
wifi doesnt work in my laptop
@cummies ive tried multiple wifi usb sticks
its just something with the drivers or some shit
@EnjuAihara @cummies Install firmware. If you're using some freetard distro, they probably removed drivers from the repos because they're nonfree and freetards think it's better for you to have a bricked computer than one running proprietary software.
@EnjuAihara @cummies Does your wifi work on Ubuntu? If yes, it's probably you're missing something that is installed by default on just werks distros.
Does lspci show your network controller?
@miria @cummies it shows the network name and stuff
it just wont connect
maybe im stupid and typed the password wrong 10 times idk
i only use my laptop in the terminal bc everything else is kinda laggy
@EnjuAihara @cummies If it shows your networks I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't connect unless you typed the password or some other parameters wrong.
@miria @EnjuAihara this sounds like that problem i had with wifi a few months ago?
@miria @cummies mine works now
idk why but it just does
maybe it worked the whole time i just didnt notice lol
@miria @cummies i have 3 screens but to get to the left monitor i have to move to the right of the right monitor
Follow

@EnjuAihara @miria @cummies If you have more than 2, go through the code and figure it out so you can make a function to set it to a specific screen, then bind that somewhere

in awesomewm you can just client:move_to_screen(x)

· · Web · 2 · 0 · 0

@EnjuAihara @miria @cummies awesome wm does that by default. it's a dwm fork that's just better. but, you could just call xdotool

@applejack @miria @cummies and the screens dont have the right refresh rate
why cant things just work like when using a DE

@EnjuAihara @miria @cummies
xrandr

for my setup its

xrandr --output HDMI-0 --mode 1920x1080 --pos 3440x360 --rate 60\
--output DP-4 --mode 3440x1440 --primary --rate 90

you can also use arandr for a gui

@applejack @miria @cummies i finally managed to make a wm work
now i just have to look into moving windows around

@miria @EnjuAihara @cummies I like configs that are just scripts. I do this with setxkbmap and xset, pulsemixer, and whatever else.

also, @EnjuAihara do
setxkbmap -model pc105 -layout de,jp -option caps:swapescape grp:rctrl_switch grp:shift_caps_toggle compose:sclk shift:both_capslock
xset r rate 300 35
then hold down the N key. thank me later

@miria @EnjuAihara @cummies No, I was thinking absolute number. like <mod>+{1,2,3} = place on monitor X
