Someone please port the discord saucebot.py for matrix using the python bot SDK.

@applejack It's been running with a discord-matrix bridge for a while now actually, ever since the discord server got reported and I was forced to do a purge of the entire chatlog.

I'm slowly transitioning into making the server matrix-only, but right now it's 50/50. The matrix side mostly just exists for the benefit of people who don't want to risk their discord account, and also as an archive for the chatlog when discord inevitably nukes the server for breaking their rules again

Now the saucebot I want is something I want for matrix because Element doesn't support loading full URL previews of multi-image twitter posts (discord didn't either for a while, which was why saucebot was originally made)

@punished_wysteria So it just gets up to four images and spams them in the chat, yeah? I could do it in a few minutes after I get home from gym

@applejack Yes, saucebot also does it for pixiv URLs since pixiv disables hotlinking images directly.

Though whatever you do you'll need a twitter API key to test saucebot since that's what it uses. I got rejected when I tried to apply for one so I'm hoping for a kind hearted soul to make/host the bot for matrix users to use 😸

@punished_wysteria My bird account just got suspended but I can go through others. Or even just go through less direct means. Nitter has an API I think

@applejack Oh damn I forgot nitter was a thing

@punished_wysteria My discord YT search feature is powered by invidious. Only downside is occasionally you need to change instance when it breaks. Also, does it need to be python? This sort of thing is simple enough that you don't need to reuse the saucebot code, it's just gluing two endpoints together
