what is it with "free speech" people and pushing the envelope with shit like lolicon and unironic fedposting and whining when they get slapped on the wrist
@graf Ah yes, lolicon, just as bad as saying you are gonna commit an act of terrorism, how dare we to push so far for our freedom to post anime girls.
@Shizu dont be obtuse. the two groups of people who kvetch the most about *muh free speech* are lolicons (porn isnt free speech btw) and people who want to post borderline or wholly illegal shit. those are the top two

@graf @Shizu Free Speech as a concept includes expression. Don't act retarded

@graf @Shizu Literally "typing words isn't speech" kind of retarded logic

@applejack @graf @Shizu written word have been included in free speech protections since the founding porn not so much

@mac_ack @graf @Shizu And so has expression. The meme is "it's not in the name, lol"

@applejack @graf @Shizu Porn isn't speech and neither is "expression" whatever the fuck that is

@mac_ack @graf @Shizu You're not allowed to make that movie with a certain plot, that's not speech

You're not allowed to make a middle finger, that's not speech

You're not allowed to post racist memes, images, infographics, that's not speech

You're not allowed to post swastikas and pepes, that's not speech

You're not allowed to buy this book, movie, song, article, buying stuff isn't speaking

You're not allowed to access this website, downloading a webpage isn't talking or typing

You're retarded

@applejack @graf @Shizu This sort of opinion could only come from someone who doesn't know very much about the history of free speech. First amendment existed right alongside blasphemy laws for most of American history. Porn as expression as speech is a purely modern invented cope.

@DrRyanSkelton @graf @Shizu And they were struck down because they were deemed unconstitutional

It quote literally says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof", they're just contradictory

Genuinely, what are you thinking? You're trying to make the point that blasphemy isn't speech or what?

@applejack @graf @Shizu No they weren't. Most are still on the books to this day.

@DrRyanSkelton @graf @Shizu

I don't really care

Genuinely, what is your point? Blasphemy isn't speech? Actually, extend this, when you get arrested on the net for talking about jews, that stops being Free Speech, ye?
