@rlier23 @applejack @Shizu To be fair a lot of speech wasn't free just this last two years the second you had questions about the vaccine. There's always been blasphemy laws. The current regime now just ignores the ones on paper and enforces their own faggot definitions.
Concepts don't evolve. They're not alive, certainly not independent of the people involved with them. People change the definitions of them to use the old word's clout with the new definition. The point I'm making is that the folks who originally fought and died to make this a value important to Americans didn't see a contradiction between first amendment and blasphemy laws and the modern definition is autismally stretching the old word to a new definition and demanding everyone respect that new definition.
Of course, all this is theoretical. Every site has a king. Every king has a definition of permitted speech and veto power. Free speech as a concept has no limiting power, you only have the promise of the king that he will hew to X definition of it and most of the smart ones realize that using the terms free speech will open you up to precisely the shitty behavior and shitty people graf describes unless you limit signups in some fashion.
