Reminder that they can take down CSAM peddlers faster & more thoroughly than they took down RT & they deliberately choose not to.

@Nike Big giant company, known address, known domain, clearnet DNS, actual legal entity

Vs.

None of that

@applejack >The most sophisticated global surveillance system can't prevent access to illicit materials posted on some of the internet's most trafficked websites

There's no way you actually believe this.
@applejack
No dude, Im talking normal web here. Shit gets posted & shared on mainstream websites. It could all be dealt with, and they don't even bother.

@Nike Because it's 1000000000000 different people doing it and they generally get arrested or do use proxying

Like I said, it's not a centralised entity, it's doesn't have a constant known location, it's already illegal but evades it, and they already put resources into it. Shit like this:
cloudflare (powers most of the internet) blog.cloudflare.com/the-csam-s
>Today we're proud to take a step to help deal with those hard cases. Beginning today, every Cloudflare customer can login to their dashboard and enable access to the CSAM Scanning Tool

microsoft en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhotoDNA
>It is used on Microsoft's own services including Bing and OneDrive,[4] as well as by Google's Gmail, Twitter,[5] Facebook,[6] Adobe Systems,[7] Reddit,[8] Discord[9] and the NCMEC,[10] to whom Microsoft donated the technology.

Being able to add a URL to some DB and RT stops working isn't comparable

@Nike What do you really think they can do other than image hashes and manual reports? And then what? They send the IP and signup details to ICMEC and whatever and that's all they can do

@Nike Do you think it makes any sense, even if you make the assumption the feds are 100% righteous actors, that they spread their entire budget out thin on a billion minor people and expose all their secret backdoors and tricks for it?

@applejack I genuinely believe it's possible, as vast as their resources are.
@applejack @Nike @applejack If the government ever gets the ability to fully shut down anything on the internet, they would shut us down first
