@lebronjames75 The best argument against democracy is that behaviour like this is standard operating procedure in every democracy in history.
@cirnog the best argument against all other forms of government that they are still run by these exact same kinds of people

@lebronjames75 @cirnog A king isn't selected by how corrupt he is, he gets it for being born. That's a 50000000000% better process

@applejack @lebronjames75 @cirnog Well this is the problem, people complain about the possibility of a weak or incompetent king, but in that case his ministers just keep shit running until somebody figures out a way to get rid of him.
Democracy is at best, even assuming everybody is operating in good faith, the exact same thing as a weak king. It removes the possibility of a strong king entirely, the sort of king who might for example expel the Jews.
@applejack @lebronjames75 @cirnog a king only has 24 man hours a day to ruin things, a bureaucracy multiple factors higher
@hakui @applejack @lebronjames75 A king always has a court and advisors and retainers and really a whole government to run things. The difference is there is an obvious hierarchy for who to blame/reward
@cirnog @applejack @lebronjames75 france went to shit because louis xiv gathered all the nobles in the same palace and replaced their jobs with bureaucrats
@cirnog @hakui @applejack @lebronjames75 The critical flaw of democracy well explained in this post. It allows everyone to blame the other guy.
