@Chronomemes This is one of the more interesting realisations I've had: Did God actually intend for humans to eat from the tree? If we consider that the purpose of humanity is to... Not quite entertain, a bit more than that; to be children of God, then our growth, which occurred pretty much as a direct result of that, should have been part of the plan from the beginning.
Actually I should throw this at @godscast@poa.st and the various other theologicals on here, I'd like to hear your opinion of this.
@Zerglingman @Chronomemes OP is super fag deluxe edition.

There is a concept in theology, or at least Reformed theology, that the Bible's descriptions of "God's will" can be differed between three kinds, which comes from the fact that there are two Greek words for "will":

1. Directive, or Sovereign Efficacious, Will
2. Preceptive Will
3. Permissive Will

It is the difference #1 and #3 that often confuses people, which is often abused by fedora-fags like OP.

Directive is as it says. God decreed before the beginning what would take place including the Fall and who is and is not elected in Christ. Where the confusion lies is that what we can call directive will in Scripture never describes in and of itself the Lord's emotions, moral judgement, or counter-factual desire toward the event, setting, and actor decreed. God is merely decreeing what must take place for His glory and for the benefit of His children, both angel and human.

Preceptive is God's moral decree. "...but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat" is one example, the laws of Moses being another. God's moral decrees do not carry the same weight of necessary causation as directive will with an actor (Adam & Eve or the Israelite) who is given some freedom of will, but not total or exhaustive freedom which belongs to God alone.

Permissive is what actually describes God's emotional and moral judgement towards a particular thought, attitude, or action an actor takes. God permits those particulars evils to take place DESPITE hating all sin because the God has logically higher priority goal in mind. Another cause of confusion with permissive and directive will is that God does not often share with us, outside His written Word, why He allows certain evils. This is only given to Christians in Heaven, sometime through logical deduction and insight of a sequence of events, and rarely through extra-Biblical miracles on Earth.

One final thing to note is that these distinctions are purely explanatory and do not reflect an actual metaphysical separation of God's holy will. We must not think that because God permits something that He hates that He then is a mere spectator rather than working in that event. The world is upheld by His hand (Hebrews 1:3), which means that He is in a way causing evils to takes place, even if He is not compelling sinners themselves to directly cause sin.

tl;dr God did will and ultimate cause Adam and Eve to sin but God is not the direct cause and author of sin.
