@PonyPanda @professionalbigot69 @RikaDerufu Because it's by law not by business
@PonyPanda @professionalbigot69 @RikaDerufu Public law, yeah
@PonyPanda @professionalbigot69 @RikaDerufu Currently the state, so it's not capitalist
Capitalism is private action, socialism is public action
Anything done privately is capitalist, anything done publicly is socialist
"Private ownership and distribution" is literally how capitalism is defined
@PonyPanda
im not libertarian-leaning
it doesnt matter in the least what you think the context was, if you can call legal state concepts capitalist then you can literally apply it to anything
federal loans are capitalism
murder laws are capitalisn
taxes are capitalisn
they all involve and benefit business by some line of logic
: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market
this is literally what the word means. if you think otherwise its purely a you being wrong thing
"Capitalism" by it's definition does not put people first and it's a really stupid development that people would come to use a term originally meant to describe a harmful pathology to be a term describing an ideology.
Call yourselves libertarian or classic liberal or whatever because your definition is all wrong. And then we can ditch the semantic argument and then argue about how liberalism is retarded.
