“Reading Himmler’s speech in its entirety, rather than the usual out-of-context quotations, results in a new level of understanding. Brief, out-of-context quotations have been used to support the orthodox Holocaust story since the end of the Second World War. […] Carlos Porter has also provided interesting insights in his translation of the various controversial terms used by Himmler: ausrotten, ausmerzen, umbringen and totschlagen. and I find it disgusting that whomever you asked in Germany after the war - nobody knew anything. in the Auschwitz trials initially nobody was on the ramp sorting people for the gas chambers. and nobody was throwing in the gas. eventually, pressured by countless witnesses, the accused confessed that they were there - "but only once!"
imagine being national socialist and idealizing the faithful, strong Aryan. and then having the accused cry on the Auschwitz trial tapes that they did not want to do it.
as a German I'm disgusted both by what happened and especially that the perpetrators were cowardly, weak and dishonest after the war.
one of the few people who did not give a fuck facing his execution was Rudolf Höß, who in his autobiography did not lie and freely wrote about the 2.5m people he had killed by gas or other means.
