Freedom requires you remove yourself as far as possible from situations where someone with economic power can force your hand.

So if you work for a megalomaniac, or some petulant rich dude can remotely disable your car, or your communication means are subject to arbitrary interference or removal from the owners of your medium, you may wish to make a change.
