I am thinking of using Waydroid or Anbox to emulate an Android phone so I can set up a telegram account from my desktop.

Using the desktop telegram app wouldn’t allow me to create an account.

Does anyone know the safety and privacy implications of using Waydroid or Anbox?

@applejack yeah, there are websites that will accept an SMS for you (usually for a small amount of XMR), so that part isn't a problem for me. I just want to know if those programs are safe / private

@billiam Sure, but those sites let you use numbers generally just one time. Telegram requires it again to sign in each time

Android emulators are perfectly safe
