Deficits mean future tax increases, pure and simple. Deficit spending should be viewed as a tax on future generations, and politicians who create deficits should be exposed as tax hikers.

Any deficit should be funded, personally, by the ones who spent the money
Any amount spent by government should be paid out of the pocket of those who chose to spend it, then those people "voters" who agree it was proper can chip in a few quid to cover the expense
