@dcjogger Funny that you bring this up... The SCOTUS has ruled that the police have no duty/obligation to protect anyone. This is clear evidence that a person's safety/security is THEIR responsibility. Once you grasp this concept it is easy to determine that a person should not only be allowed but encouraged to develop their own safety/security plan which could include: open/concealed firearm, taser, knives, mace, stick OR (grin) calling the police an hoping for the best.
It seems to me, a reasonable person that any/all laws/codes/regulations/ordinances in fact infringes upon a person's right and ability to protect themselves from other people with nefarious intentions, and therefore should be abolished.
