@lain @Moon the COVID rates are higher than ever here yet precautionary measures (that were benefiting me) are now being reduced, and being replaced with security theater protocols. I think everyone realizes how non-serious this disease is, at least subconsciously. The total death toll in my region is extremely low, and the hospitalization rate is also still very low despite the high case numbers.

What pisses me off is the political show this has turned into. When it was the most important to take the most serious measures everyone downplayed it for months. When Trump finally caused the domino effect of border closures he was denounced as un-scientific My own health authority was telling people not to wear masks, that wearing a mask would actually harm you. Now that the data is in and containment has utterly failed they're blasting fear-monger propaganda at full volume.

Watch this all fade after the US election.
