People who have never written software, let alone tried to make a large complicated software project, need to calm the fuck down about video game delays.

Friends talking about vermouth-y cocktails and now I want a Vieux Carré

The technical proficiency of the music and singing that allows Postmodern Jukebox to transform otherwise banal songs is somewhat magical. Scott Bradley is really good at these transformations, but I wish there was more original music that followed suit. The world of jazz is full of shitty fusion and improv bands that will never beat out a proper arrangement except by the highest quality musicians.

I’m sure there are tons of indies I don’t know about. For instance there’s a Shinjuku jazz scene that I’ve only started scratching the surface one. And while that’s great it is also still distinctly Japanese.

I don’t know where I’m going with this. I’m just a former band geek wishing there was better music to listen to.

I have a totally unoptimized DPS build going in The Division 2 now. My damage output is about half what I need it to be for a really optimal build, but 3x what it was a few days ago, so I’m happy with the progress.

One of the things I really like is that this build absolutely shreds in Challenging difficulty… right up until I make a mistake and I get super punished and die.

So clearly the answer is to git gud and don’t make mistakes. I’m learning to be more mobile, even more about positioning, when to use the shield and when to run for cover.

Tons of fun.

A friend making homemade pretzels commented how a tablespoon of lye into a gallon of water was really dangerous. This was in close proximity to when my wife and I made our latest batch of soap which uses almost a pound of lye in a little under a liter of water.

10 miles on the Airdyne because it’s raining today. I really prefer running.
