The main reason I dislike Trump, above and beyond what he did to the January 6ers, is that he chose to forgoe the immense opportunity he had been given. The crown of the US lay at his feet, the Rubicon to his immediate front, and instead of doing what the likes of Caesar and Napoleon did and join the great men of history, he just left them both there and chose to just become some obscure figure people look back on with confusion and wonder to what could have been.
@Shadowman311 I think it's entirely possible he was checkmated in some behind the scenes manner but the end result is the same. Whatever could have been, he was not able to be a great man of history.
