I think I've had a conversation like this like at least 20 times in my life, I'm convinced they were just playing a game of psychological skip rope in order to manipulate me into doing something for free.
@fristi Provided a freebie once for a former friend who used my knowledge to get herself into a banking securities job. Then she had a FaceBook melt down on me which ended like you might expect. Mocked me, blocked me, and came back to ask me if I could help her handle an inventories audit. And, as usual she expected me to do it as another freebie.... So, I told her f*ck you, there's the freebie now f*ck off. Last I knew she was blaming me for being passed over because I wouldn't help her.
